Re:<<Leaving aside the rest of your rant for the moment...>>

Win, I get the pejorative context of your description of my text, but it is improper usage of the word. We can't rant on these threads because the word implies "speech". I hope you don't mind the English lesson.

As for your questions:

<<Has a decision been announced?>>

Didn't they send you the memo? Maybe an oversight.

Win, I hate to break this to you but we don't deploy 200,000 soldiers, equipment, aircraft, ammunition without the express intent to use it. There is no indecision here. That is pure myth. This war is no longer subject to lengthy deliberation. Sure Bush would love to have the Security Council on board. But try not to kid yourself on this one, because, if you do, you are in for a rude shock in a couple weeks. (Unless Iraq blinks, of course)

<< Is it a bad thing to discuss it meanwhile? >>

To what purpose? Knock yourself out.

<<What happened in your unit when people discussed stuff like that? Or did they just know better when you were in earshot?>>

Reread the discussion between JohnM and myself. Your question is out of context and hence inappropriate.

FYI, my soldiers didn't wear their feelings on their sleeves like JohnM obviously does. Moreover, soldiers discuss plenty until the leader makes a decision. Then the discussion is over.
