Let's not forget the most ominous geopolitical situation out there. It's not the Middle East, it is North Korea, and by osmosis it's best friend China, who incidentally has greatly assisted the nuclear program of Pakistan, estimated to have about 50-60 nuclear weapons now and growing each year. (India has a few more, also in a nuclear arms race)

Our government wants the Middle East to be forefront, and for Red Asia to be ignored. It will increasingly be too hard to ignore.
