Yeah, you have to give Klein credit. He tried to write a piece that would resonate to a more disparate audience. In the end, of course, his bias couldn't let that happen.

That parsimonious depiction of "W" at the "intersection of faith and inexperience" is a dead giveaway that there isn't going to be a favorable review. Gee, it does beg the question at this stage who has more experience than W for that which we are about to embark? Experience doesn't actually come in this flavor.

In a nutshell, Klein would be more comfortable were the President less resolute. Actually, I'm surprised he doesn't favor "wishy washy". That would be a great flavor for some. The last guy had a lot of that. "Hmmm, the wife in the bedroom, Monica under the desk or Kathleen in the oval office...I simply can't decide..."

Now, personally, I have trouble identify with Klein. Of course it's just me, but I'm partial to a guy who did all the anguishing before the decision was made. A guy who figured out what the right thing to do was and is now going about doing it. Resolutely.(sorry had to use the R word)

My take is that "W" doesn't have to carry some of the baggage that Franklin Roosevelt or Jack Kennedy did. It's rather amazing how one feels when their conscience is clear. It still irritates me that in some quarters a President has to overcome the stigma of an abiding faith in the Almighty. I realize it must be a personal flaw, but still consider it to be a great strength in our leaders.
