"Soldiers on the ground" includes those who provide support. The US military no longer has the draft, so our military is composed of enlisted men and women, and the reserves. The average age of the grunts (guys running around carrying rifles) in the infantry is about 20. The average age of the National Guard is 36. Anyway, we're wandering far afield from where we started. I assume you have sufficient education to read an abstract of a research article in a medical journal. I invite you to read for yourself, and see that there is no medical basis for Gulf War Syndrome.
