Fonix Delivers Speech Interface Solutions to Make Using Mobile Devices
Easier and Safer

CANNES, France and SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
3GSM WORLD CONGRESS - Fonix Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: FONX), a leading
provider of speech interface solutions, announced today their "My Voice, My
Device" vision for safer and easier access to mobile and wireless devices.
"My Voice, My Device" speech solutions will be delivered through the Fonix
VoiceCentral(TM) Suite of products. The products or modules will initially
include: Fonix VoiceDial(TM), Fonix VoiceEmail(TM), Fonix VoiceInternet(TM)
and Fonix VoiceCalendar(TM).
"While mobile and wireless devices have made the Internet and other
information systems readily available anywhere, these devices are only as
effective as the user's ability to easily interact with them," said
Rolf-Juergen Bruess, President, Fonix International. "'My Voice, My Device'
solutions driven by the user's voice with minimal or no training is not only
the sensible next-step in mobile and wireless devices but the natural solution
for users."
As devices based on operating systems like the Microsoft PocketPC Phone
Edition, Microsoft Smartphone, Symbian, Palm OS5, and Linux have become
smaller and more powerful, current approaches to accessing the Internet either
with a stylus or, even worse, by using a phone keypad to T9 have become
impractical and archaic. Speech access by voice recognition is a natural
solution to making the user interface on mobile devices a must-have
application.
For multiple devices, operating systems and processors, Fonix provides the
VoiceCentral Suite(R) of products for mobile devices. VoiceCentral allows 'My
Voice, My Device' utility and significant user access to these powerful
devices.
The flagship product of the Suite is Fonix VoiceDial 1.2, a
speaker-independent voice dialing solution that is currently available for the
following platforms and devices:

-- Microsoft PocketPC Phone Edition
* T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone Edition
* O2 XDA
* AT&T Siemens SX56
* HP Journada 928 WDA
* Hitachi Multimedia Communicator (announced, available mid-2003)
* Samsung i700 (announced, available mid-2003)
-- Microsoft Smartphone
* Orange SPV
-- Bluetooth Devices
* Bluetooth enabled Microsoft PocketPC 2002 PDA
* Sony-Ericsson T68i mobile phone
* Bluetooth headset
To further support a global marketplace, Fonix VoiceDial 1.2 is available in English, UK English, German, French and Spanish. Fonix VoiceDial 1.2 will also be available in the future for Symbian and Palm-based devices.

Future products of the Fonix VoiceCentral Suite include Fonix VoiceEmail, Fonix VoiceInternet, and Fonix VoiceCalendar.

-- Fonix VoiceEmail features the ability to conduct "Email triage" by
voice. Have the title of your email read to you, then choose delete,
next, reply to sender, reply to all, etc. You can reply with a set
of canned responses or even reply with a .wav audio file.
-- Fonix VoiceInternet features the ability to navigate the Internet by
voice. Go directly to any site that is saved in your Favorites or
the preloaded top 100 sites formatted for viewing on mobile devices.
Navigate back, forward, or to any link of the page. VoiceInternet
also allows for access to databases on business websites.
-- Fonix VoiceCalendar features the ability to manage your calendar on
the go. You can make a new appointment by specifying which day, what
time, with whom (if they are in your contact database), and where.
VoiceCalendar makes it much easier to reschedule appointments as
well.
All of the products in the Fonix VoiceCentral Suite are currently available or will be available in Spring/Summer of 2003. The Suite will also support English, UK English, German, French and Spanish. Future languages are also on the roadmap. Fonix is developing solutions based on Microsoft PocketPC Phone Edition, Microsoft Smartphone, Microsoft PocketPC, Symbian, and Palm operating systems.

Fonix is showcasing their "My Voice, My Device(TM)" vision at the 3GSM World Congress, booth C23, Hall 1.
