The visceral nature of the anti bush stuff is partly a reaction to the visceral nature of the anti-clinton stuff which is partly a reaction to the visceral nature of the anti-reagan stuff. This ideological divide is deep and it makes consensus politics, particularly on foreign affairs, very difficult to attain. My belief is that if it werent for this, many anti-war folks would be on the other side. And if clinton/gore were president visa versa. Mike
