No evidence at all that he was moving towards Saudi Arabia -that would have been truly mad. So far as I can tell the reports of 250,000 Iraqi massed on the Saudi border was never verified and it was never questioned by a compliant media - rather like the babies in the incubator story - courtesy Hill and Knowlton. You're probably not old enough to recognise propaganda for what it is? When I was little I believed that we were the good guys - only the Germans tortured prisoners. As for the invasion of Kuwait there are several angles to that and reports that Sadaam got a nod and a wink beforehand. The full history of this has yet to be written.

The madman was once America's pal as was Bin Laden. How come you're dragging up all his past crimes now - when you stood by and said nothing- even provided him with arms and equipment?
