Thanks PT, as a practical matter it would appear the second resolution route is going to be undertaken anyway, so the question may be moot.

Conceptually, if your objective is peace, and no war, in this and the various other conflagrations that will be developing while we are both drinking Guinness for the foreseeable future, how do you propose that the world's demand that Saddam disarm be achieved?

He has already materially breached 1441, what should the UN do from here? How much more time do you think that he should get?

Is there a link in your updated thread header for e-mailing Iraq, both at the UN and in Iraq demanding that he fully comply with UN 1441 so that war can be averted?
