He was not afraid of the guy from Arizona. His attitude was something like "bring it on bub." The risk is from the local reactionary cowpokes. Their reactions aren't always rational. Sometimes any focus for hate is a worthy one. We were getting reactionary incidents related to the Oklahoma City bombing during the crises and long after it was learned that there was no connection. In this case their is a connection between Muslims, Arabs, and someone like Saddam even if it is only in culture or genetic associations. No one wants to be the focus of all of that.
