JMarcus,

"Phase III results will be announced February 24th, just after the market closes."

Sorry, that is not correct. Before the open:

>>BRISBANE, Calif. (Reuters) - VaxGen Inc.(NasdaqNM:VXGN - News) on Friday said it will announce on Monday long-awaited results from a pivotal-stage trial of its experimental HIV vaccine, AIDSVAX.

Vaxgen, based in Brisbane, California, said it will hold a conference call at 9 a.m. EST on Monday to discuss the results, which will be announced in a news release before the call.

The outcome of the pivotal-stage trial in 5,400 people in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands and Puerto Rico has been widely debated.

VaxGen has said the goal of the trial is prevention of HIV infection in 60 percent of patients, but investigators will also be looking at the vaccine's impact on slowing viral replication in patients who do become infected.

The vaccine is designed to work by inducing the immune system to produce antibodies that attach to a protein on the surface of the virus. The theory is that by preventing the virus from attaching to cells it will stop infection, but making a vaccine against HIV is difficult because the virus integrates itself into cells, and because it attacks the very immune cells that are normally stimulated by a vaccine. <<

snip, emphasis mine

According to Tom, there are shares availabale at MB trading to short if that is one's inclination. Not sure if it can be done in the premarket, though buying certainly can.

Cheers, Tuck
