Do you think some of this European talk of using EDGE could be a ploy in attempt the get Qualcomm to divert some of its engineering design talent to work on EDGE in hopes of slowing down it’s progress on CDMA/WCDMA and dual mode GSM/ GPRS chipsets ? I am not sure Qualcomm has IPR access to do any development on EDGE! Hence this is the Euro's ploy! They deploy GSM/EDGE in Greenfield spectrum.. They will claim EDGE is....."close enough"! PCSTEL
