If they could do that, it would certaintly hammer KLAC. However, into which cluster tool(s) would you put your metrology units? My impression is that the metrology tools are used after various steps of the processing to determine that that step is being performed properly by that tool. The approach of putting a metrology tool into a cluster tool would seem to require a metrology tool in each cluster. Seems a tad pricey to do it this way, not to mention the space required in each cluster.
