combjelly, So I guess this is Intel's answer to the DP ClawHammer. 256k of cache doesn't sound so bad any more... I think Intel may want this to be the answer to Opteron, but that won't fly. Also, Intel has to try to bring Itanium to mainstream, and Deerfield is an attempt to do just that. But I don't know how much potential it has vs. their own 32bit line of processors which will have 1MB of L2 and clock speeds of 3 GHz and above. Joe
