Well, kumar...global security has been quoted quite a bit on this and the other thread....so let's see when we see what articles are posted if they are slanted...and if so, how far. If in fact, he is of the left in political feeling, it is helpful to know that. I couldn't see who is funding his web site...could you?
Also, I think with the variety of articles there (several from VOA, for instance) his site is more like google news, or drudge, or several others that just pick up links...I didn't see on that page (Feb 21, 2003 news) any of his actual comments....just news articles.
And with news agencies....One really has to be careful there too. How many times do you know much about the particular author of the piece...?What is their slant? What is the slant of the overall organization?
So I'm willing to look at various pieces, but WILL try to pick out slant words.... Don't want to pick on Scott...but look at the ones he posts....nearly all of them are from the left, and further left pov....
Pick out the words again...
Re just "reporting news"....if the article has a name on the article, it is a by-line, and therefore an opinion. If no name on it...(i.e. straight from AP for instance)....no name...then it SHOULD have NO opinion....just straight reporting. VERY difficult to find those...but we can search for them. |
