I've come around to believe the best way for us to "take care of North Korea" is to just do nothing.

Yep... to an extent. But I believe the Bush administration is taking the right approach by stating that any talks with N. Korea will be multi-lateral, not one on one just with the US.

And we really need to pressure the Chinese to rein in their prodigy.. There are obviously factions within China which believe a belligerent N. Korea is an asset, and essential for perplexing and distracting the Americans.

They must be made to understand that the US holds Bejing accountable for their complicity in this belligerency and that they may be repercussions related to US relations with Taiwan and the possibility of providing nuclear weapons to S. Korea and/or Japan. It was the Chinese who suffered nearly a million casualties defending N. Korea the last time around, and they may wind up suffering even more this time if the US, S. Korea, and other nations are required to defend themselves against Kim Jong Il's aggression...

And btw, I do believe that Jong might try an "all or nothing" attack on the south, if left with no alternatives. Thus, it's imperative that, like with a spoiled child, we offer him specific rewards for behavior modification, which will be withheld when he misbehaves.
