Blue,

I try to ignore a company's institutional holders. After the likes of Enron, Tyco and Worldcom you can hardly blame me. I agree in full with your statement, "Stocks like Xoma are extremely risky". Makes me wonder why some large institutions take extreme risks.

I guess I'm just an old-fashioned out-of-date investor of yesteryear. I believe that earnings or at least the possibility of earnings are the bottom line for any company. I guess I'm just a silly bastard for not blindly accepting the new paradigms, but so it goes.

I've never worked for Xoma, however, disenchanted former investor would be accurate.

I liked your comments about 'fortitude'. Sometimes it does take fortitude to buy, but sometimes it takes fortitude to sell. Cuts both ways I think.

I have nothing personal against Xoma management, but I do have severe reservations about Xoma the failure. If Xoma the success ever materializes I will applaud them along with you.

I really don't think you need worry about my negative views. I appear to be the lone voice in the SI wilderness. I don't post on George's 'private board' nor on the regular Yahoo board. Come the day Xoma receives FDA approval for a major product the share price will Xooma upwards regardless of anything I say, as it should. Indeed, if that day ever comes I may well be a returned investor.

Cheers, Ed
