It is not well known that the North Vietnamese Regulars and the Viet Cong cells lost thousands of soldiers during Tet. However, they won the international political battle of having troops fighting in every major city on the lunar new year making the war look unwinnable (which it was with the strategy the US employed).

And, if the world ain't small enough, I knew a guy named Ray Humpreys who was in the MP's stationed in Saigon. He was one of the guys firing over the wall at the snipers on the US embassy compound in Saigon...he was in the picture on the cover of Time magazine (and many other publications). I met him after the war...he's a security consultant...had the pic hanging on the office wall. His specialty is security for families of corporate executives travelling abroad - he has some amazing stories although he insists he's on the preventative side...not the extraction side of the business.

Let's hope there are winds off of Auckland. Play well tonight.
