American movies, TV and rock n' roll also helped bring down the Soviet Union. And their costly war in Afghanistan. And the US finally getting out of Vietnam and not looking like the evil aggressors anymore. It was a people movement.

Then Reagan built up our military and thank God Gorbachev was not a hard-liner, because he chose peace instead of war. NK has a hard-liner now but the people there can gradually be seduced by capitalism.
