What do you think those rallies will ultimately accomplish?

It is claimed that the coordinated worldwide protests of 10 to 30 million people were the largest in human history.

Governments like Spain and Italy who were siding with the US have to rethink their positions. Blair is a goner. The only thing that can save him is a quick easy victory with very few casualties.

I doubt Dubya saw this coming. Even in the US, support for a unilateral war has dropped from 39% when Powell made his case at the UN to 30% today. Dubya needs a second resolution which he may not get.

The least that the rallies will accomplish is slow the drive to "war". There is at least a 20% chance that they will succeed in stopping the "war", IMHO. And they may cause regime changes in Britain, Italy and, perhaps, Spain.
