And just what proof do you have that GW has the power to take over Iraqi oil fields even if he wanted to. You can't even prove GW has intentions to do that, and you can't prove Gw could confiscate another countries assets for his personal gain, but you keep saying it. That is a ridiculous charge. Far less believable than anything GW and Powell have said about Iraq; and although disproven, you keep on saying it, as though saying it makes it true. What is the difference between you ,and the communist parties, of the 50's who would say any lie they wanted to about Stalin, just to make us believe Russia was a good place to live. Once the war is over, and all of the horrors of Saddam get revealed, what will you say then.

That accusation is so incredible that it makes no sense, so the author interprets the accusation, in a way that would be possible. There is no legal way GW could possibly do what you are accusing him of trying to do, so why are you accusing him of that. Even the biggest crook on record, your buddy Bill couldn't get away with that.
Coming from a group that so prides itself on its intellect, I find it curious that the Right seems to misunderstand these arguments with the intent to make them look even less reasonable than they already are.
You can be sure that no one will accuse the left of basing its arguments on intelligence, honesty or morality, after the war is done. After the war, and everybody finds out the horrors Saddam has inflicted, no one will be able to say the war wasn't just, just as the anti war protestors were shut up after WWII. You only have a month to continue your lying ways, then the truth will expose your positions as absurdities. |
