In this case, I think it's the Australians more acutely remember the disappointment (PAIN) of failing to live up to the hype, as OE got tons more publicity and coverage there and was rated a strong buy by covering firms. The company itself was living in a fantasy for quite a period of time and only woke up when there was 6 months of cash left. I think the Aussie evaluation of this stock has more of an emotional component than the US evaluation.
