I hear no complaints from friends, neighbours or acquaintances. True the waiting time for some procedures are longer than they should be, but that can be fixed by spending a little more on those services. People may say they want to be able to pay for some services, but I've never heard anyone say they wish they would have been asked to pay for the treatment they've received. Not once.

One can see any doctor, or more than one doctor, that they wish and get referrals to specialists. I know, my mother regularly goes "doctor shopping". These visits are not limited or rationed.

Medical care in Canada is similar to pulic education, a right, provided free of cost to any resident. If people want to pay for services they can always go to the US. Very few do.

Not only that, but anyone in need of nursing home care, is provided such care with the cost dependent on their ability to pay. I bet less than 10% of people would be willing to trade medical care systems with the US. Maybe less.
