Continuing my thought on the "simplistic" approach to stir up the masses on anything from laundry soap to hamburgers to war.. It is quick, easy and effective now where the average bloke and blokette have the attention span to maybe absorb a four or five word canned reponse from a Bush news conference. "We have to disarm Saddam" "We have to spank Saddam" , " Saddam has to disarm".
And the average b n' b thinks Saddam is Iraq.. LOL..
And what does "disarm" mean ? Take away is arms? All his arms? No, he(Iraq, whoever,<g>) is allowed rockets up to 150 KM, but not 175 KM and that is reason to subject the Iraqi people to hundreds of thousands deaths.. But Iraq can have a standing army of 300,000 to 500,000.. Are they all with wooden guns?.. All this sloganering would even confuse the most intelligent if they didn't care to keep up to date on what is truly going on....
Then they (Rove etal) go on and feed the Bush the simplistic term, "War on Terror", a three letter slogan this time, that doesn't make sense to me.. Because terror is a "state of mind", like fear, love etc.. If a person is going to war against terror, they have go against their own thoughts.. Maybe it is those demons that inhabitat the corners of the mind of the fearful. ...Those God-fearing... LOL.. The "Great State Of Mind".. No where I have seen this country on a map of the planet.. LOL..
Maybe a "War on Terrorists" would make more sense.. Doesn't have that "ring" though..
Maybe wouldn't sell enough "boxes of war"?.. I don't know.. |
