It is pacifism, not democracy, that makes for peace.

I mean the robust pacificm of Switzerland and Sweden. They combine a willingness to defend themselves, with an unwillingness to attack others. Which is a rare combination. And these peaceful nations (yes, democracies) define "defence" strictly and narrowly; unlike the democratic U.S.A., which defines "defensive war" to mean "every war we fight".

Democracy has nothing to do with making a nation peaceful. There are just too many counter-examples, of democratically elected leaders who are more than willing, really eager, to use force to achieve national goals. Of which the current U.S. leader is a prime example. I could list 50 others, from memory.
