Yiwu,
If china does not act to avert war, it abdicates its claim to be a world power. It becomes a parochial regional player at best imho.
As for Japan, a nuclear capability would be for self defense against korea and no threat to china. What you are really afraid of is an historically memory of Japan's horrible and inhuman behavior toward china during WW2. I, being Jewish, spent a good part of my life trying to not let the historical memory of Nazi Germany shape my views to the new germany. It took awhile for me to accomplish this. I know this will be hard for you. My daughter inlaw is chinese and although her dad has come to terms with Japan, her mom never will. Anyway, it is always good to talk to you. Mike
