No answer, huh? Well, try to keep a handle on the charges of "McCarthyism" that you toss around like they were confetti. You use the term constantly and incorrectly, IMO.

Ah, well ok, we will have to go there, even though it is OT and I only posted a link, not the text.

My own argument, forget Herbert, is that these anti-affirmative action cases are heavily funded and supported by folk who wish to turn the clock back, who are intensely uncomfortable in an increasing diverse society, the one we've generated since the 50s. Those views resonate with a wide array of social actors, white southern evangelicals chief among them. They also resonate with folk, like you, who think there is a way to implement a merit based social structure that would be free of racial, sexual preference, and gender discrimination without using some sanctions to bring it about.

You and I differ at that point. I don't think of you or those like you who are opposed to affirmative action on these grounds as dupes, naive, or whatever. I think the arguments you make won't accomplish what you wish.

And I also think there are darker circles providing funds for these cases.

Those are reasonably factual kinds of assertions. What troubles you about them?
