Copy of an email I received:

Dear Californians,

I wrote you in the last election cycle urging you to support
the Republican nominee for Governor of California, against
the worst governor in America, Gray Davis. Republicans came
up short in that election, but it was made clear just how
terribly unpopular Gray Davis is.

Rather than take his narrow victory as a sign that he needs
to change the way he governs California, Davis turned around
right after the election and proposed one of the largest
income taxes in California history.

Davis never would have won that election had he not misled
the people of California about how big the budget deficit in
California is. $34.6 BILLION dollars! That's not only the
largest in the nation; it's the largest deficit that any
state in the union has ever had! Simply put, Davis is a
train wreck as Governor. He mismanages everything he
touches, his fundraising practices make Bill Clinton look
ethical, and he never met a tax hike that he didn't like.

Gray Davis thinks now that he has won re-election he can do
whatever he wants. And he's acting like it. Well, it's time
to stop him, once and for all. You have a chance to do that
by joining the Recall Gray Davis effort today.

By signing the pledge of support at that link, you are indicating
that you want to receive a petition from the Recall Gray
Davis Committee. This Committee is comprised of concerned
citizens who are fed up with Gray Davis. Their goal is to
collect the 1.2 million signatures of registered California
voters that are needed to get this issue on the ballot.

This is no "fly by night" operation either. Since the
Committee's birth a mere two and a half weeks ago, they have
received over 1000 donations. The Committee's chairman,
Howard Kaloogian, was just on MSNBC's Buchanan & Press the
other day. There have already been stories in the LA Times
and San Francisco Chronicle on this issue and Howard will
have had appearances on the #1 rated radio stations in every
major media market in the state plus countless additional TV
appearances by the time this media tour is finished.

In fact, just this weekend, the California Republican Party
formally backed the recall effort. They joined the
Libertarian Party which officially endorsed the recall
the previous weekend and the American Independent Party
(California's 3rd largest political party after the
Democrat and Republican parties) which notified recall
organiZers Thursday night that they too had now officially
endorsed the effort to remove Davis.

This issue is picking up momentum fast. You can help today.
Get the recall on the ballot. Rid California of Gray Davis.
