Claude, Your broker has (or should have) the ability to confirm the STATUS of a trade at a given moment. If he doesn't or won't take the time to do it, you should look for a new broker for your hard earned investments. I day trade options (stock and index). Index especially is critical to know where you are right this second. Thirty seconds or even a minute can cost you hundreds of $. Talk to your broker about it. He/she has to know that this is what you have to have or there will be a parting of the ways, if it can't be provided. Don't expect to get this service for $10-20 a trade either. If you get prompt execution and attention you will make more money which leads to your broker making more money. Good luck! Bruce
