Yeah, I know - but we still wish things fit nicely in a two hour movie - don't we.

Not sure how we got going down the Iraq/UN resolutions, guess we were just fired up over the Afghan-Taliban affair and needed to do something bigger. Although, I agree with resolution 1441, in retrospect I sometimes wish they hadn't bothered and let sleeping dogs lie. If they had positive Al Qaeda activity in Iraq I would have been for striking that directly without the UN at all.


I think war is inevitable and that may require overruling the UN...for sure, turning it into an irrelevant entity. Short of that, I think we need to cross as many t's as possible to minimize the inevitable backlash.
