Our military is a VOLUNTEER service - they are trained for this and will go willingly. Why do people like you feel the need to assume that our military is not willing to preserve freedom and provide security so that you can sleep at night? I'd sleep better at night if we didn't attack Iraq unprovoked and raise the ire of the entire muslim world. Great! Kill another 100,000 Iraqis. That's all we need on our conscience. We might provide the motivation for more terrorist attacks. The first Gulf War did nothing to make America a safer place to live. In fact, it probably made it less safe, since the main reason that Osama and his gang attacked us on 9/11 was because we have troops stationed in the Holy Land in SA. You want to sleep safe and securely at night?!? Petition our government to stop bullying people around the world and stop creating enemies. I know we do a lot of good for the world by giving aid and that sort of thing. But, we also piss a lot of people off as a result of our desire to control the world's resouces. It's a messy business. A lot of people die and it causes people to hate us.
