Well said TigerPaw,

The beginning of the Vietnam war had no such split and so much cynicism about our leader's motives. It took a long time for the anti-war movement to gather momentum then.

I remember my older brother telling me, he was one of two, that stood up in a college class as being against our intervention in that country in about 1965..

I have thought that maybe that is the REAL legacy of the Vietnam war was to warn people of our country, that our leadership can paint themselves into a "ego" corner.. And they do not know one of the basic strategies of life, cut your losses early. There should be no "saving of face" when it comes to such things as war..

Maybe the people that LEARNED FROM and REMEMBER our "Vietnam war experience" will save us from a much larger tragedy.. Our leadership does not seem to..

Maybe that is the real legacy of the Vietnam war..

Maybe there are no accidents in life.. But everything out there, is there for a purpose, for a bigger purpose and we damn well better learn from those to be able to survive and evolve... I don't know..

Just my thoughts..
