I'll send this to you, tho I mean it as a --
general, I know some of you don't believe it, thanks for your willingness to let me post from time to time, I believe it literally, it's gonna happen soon --
A friend sent it to me and it came originally from Dr Stanley from 22 February. ----------------------------------------------------------- The Rapture of the Church 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
Over the past few years, the Rapture has become the topic of many Christian movies and books. However, amid all the fanciful stories and exciting films, we must not lose sight of the true, biblical account of that wonderful day.
First, Scripture assures us that Jesus will come for His children personally. In (John 14:3), the Lord made a promise that He Himself was going to prepare a place for us. When the time comes, He will return to take us there.
Second, Jesus will come with a shout. His call will be unmistakable to believers, but unbelievers will not be able to hear it. (First Thessalonians 4:13-18)describes this call as both a shout, representing a direct command, and as a trumpet, indicating that something important is about to happen.
Third, the dead in Christ will be raised first. This means that the bodies of all the deceased Christians throughout history will be resurrected and reunited with their spirits. Then, those Christians who are alive at that time will be taken up to meet Christ and the resurrected saints in the air.
All of this will happen suddenly, without warning. (First Corinthians 15:52)describes the rapidity of this event by saying it will occur “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.”
As the Rapture appears more frequently in pop culture, we must remember the truth behind the creative presentations. At the heart of the story is God’s Son returning to call His children home. There is no story more exciting than that. "The four living creatures kept saying, ’Amen,’ and the elders fell down and worshiped . . . ." Revelation 5:14 The End Times Revelation 1:1-3
Maybe the book of Revelation is one of those books you've secretly avoided. You tried, but you felt bogged down in mysterious symbolism or frightening visions of coming devastation. Many Christians admit they do not understand its applicability to their lives.
The apostle John, who was exiled on the island of Patmos in the first century a.d. during the reign of the Roman emperor Domitian, received a vision from an angel of the Lord. From the start, John is emphatic about the relevance and value of every word: "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near" (Revelation 1:3).
Why is it so important to understand the end time and the events that will culminate in Christ's return to earth? Why isn't it enough just to trust the Lord with the outcome and not worry about the specifics? Jesus wants you to have the whole story. When you understand the magnitude and scope of His plan for all mankind, you gain a realistic perception of your important place in the grand scheme of redemption.
God wants you to be prepared for the things to come, and He doesn't want you to worry about upheaval of this age. He is in perfect control. Be sure to take time to tell others of the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. ------------------------------------------------------------ If the length of this angers some of you, I agoligize --- but not for posting it. As I've said, I believe it and think it's important enough for me to put up with "not-to-serious" replies I may get.
