Joseph, here is my reply to your questions from previously in #41. "GENE has to get some steady income to reach $25. Do you have any evidence that points to that? (expected EPS 1997?)" my reply: From an Oppenheimer report dated 3/13/96 they expect 0.06 eps 1996 and 0.04 eps 1997. "GENE is trading at a decent level right now (7 3/4) which is only about 15% from the support level." my reply: I agree, any level under 8 seems good value to me. (almost off 50% from high several months ago) "Do you know what this stock went public at? my reply: Went public via Merrill Lynch in 1982 at $11/share. Had a secondary offering in 1983 and private placement in March 1995. In 2/96 a directed institutional public offering of common stock was completed at $13/share to raise $41M. GENE insiders own 20% and institutional investors approx. 38% (this data is all as of 3/13/96). "also this might help: NIH granted GENE something like $40 M right?" my reply: What does NIH abreviation represent? By the way GENE is one of five publicly traded companies founded to exploit commercial opportunities in genomics. (the others are HGSI Human Genome Sciences, INCY Incyte Pharm., MYGN Myriad Genetics, SQNA Sequana Therapeutics) Joseph it seems you have a handle on one or more of these other companies maybe you can compare a few items: price 96 Expected EPS 97 Expected EPS Outstanding shares Market cap.
