It's a big event. It's called the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Used to be called the Fatstock Show and Rodeo but....according to old timers, they got uppity and changed the name.<g> You'll still hear people calling it the fatstock show.

The rodeo competition is a big draw as are the concerts each night. They get the biggest names in country music to perform out there.

The kids get to dress up in their western finest on Go Texan Day which is the friday before the rodeo starts.
