Gosh, I must have been confused by the term "regime change". As I recall, when asked directly which we wanted, disarmament or regime change, Cheney made it quite clear, on national television, that the policy of the US, the policy of George W. Bush on Iraq, is "regime chance" as the goal rather than disarmament. Isn't it funny how one really stupid idea can screw up a whole country the size and complexity of the United States? Now, perhaps Cheney was lying. Perhaps people are wrong to assume that "regime change" is the policy of George Bush. But once is was made "clear" that "regime change" in concert with "preemptive attack" and a focus on the "axis of evil" is our policy, it becomes really, really hard to say -- ya, hmmm, I meant "disarmamanent". George Bush will never, ever regain his credibility.
