Drilling Has Commenced On Flag Resources (1985) Limited's Wanapitei Anomaly Holdings, Sudbury, Ontario, After A 3 Week Delay Due To A Shortage Of Drills In The Sudbury Mining Coop
CALGARY, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - RL03-3-1, currently drilling, is exploring a strong 150 foot wide magnetic occurrence in Rathbun Lake, Rathbun Township, 200 feet due west of the Rathbun Lake Occurrence. A selected grab sample, taken by the Ontario Geological Survey, from the shaft dump of the mined out occurrence, assayed 10.2% copper, 0.14% nickel, 0.056 oz platinum, 34.6 oz palladium, 0.02 oz gold and 2.22 oz silver per ton (O.G.S. Report 213, 1982). RL03-2 - Subject to results from RL03-1, Flag proposes to drill 100 feet north of RL03-1, west into Rathbun Lake, to explore an area where a previous drill hole, drilled at 70 degrees, intersected 500 feet, from 2000 to 2500 feet in the drill hole, of scattered minute quartz carbonate vainlets, with pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and pyrite mineralization. It is proposed to drill A03-3, 4, 5 and 6, subject to results from RL03-1 and 2, in the vicinity of Flag's Jess Lake gold deposit, in adjoining Mackelcan Township. A03-3 proposes to explore the Jess Lake gold deposit to a vertical depth of 2000 feet. A03-4 proposes to explore for a continuity of gold - bearing sulfides between the Jess Lake gold deposit and Cobalt Hill, 400 feet to the east. A03-5 proposes to explore a recently outlined 2300 long VLF ground conductor, extending due south from Jess Lake, to be drilled on the north boundary of adjoining Jones Lake. A03-6 is proposed as a 50 degree parallel angle hole, 50 feet north of a drill hole at Cobalt Hill, which intersected 58 feet of 0.146 oz of gold per ton, from 82 to 140 feet, exploring for an extension of the gold - bearing intersection. Compilation, assessment and evaluation, by Consultant Simon Brooksbank, of all Flag's exploration work on the Wanapitei Anomaly, is continuing. |
