Funny you should ask that of me.. because thats one of the few posts that I actually made mention of actually acknowledging 'them'.

I believe in the PPT, although I dont believe they play a very active part in the markets unless they feel the urgency to step in and create buying pressure. Its a fact they exist, the question is- how active? and how do you recognize when they are trying to create buying pressure? I speculate, but never base my trades on 'them' because aside from the size of the buys, and huge bids appearing above the ask- I cant really conclude beyond a doubt that I can get a free ride on their tails..

I also consider 'they' or 'them' to be the big houses.. the ones who profit the most from exaggerating the buying/selling and triggering short covering and buy programs to kick in.. They have the resources to create huge, temporary volatility that can harvest enormous profits so again- I cant really profit much from it, but believe it would be silly not to think manipulation on this level dosnt exist.

In other words- im just babbling.. but my thinking for what its worth is that there is a major effort by the fed to keep this market from correcting much further.. There is simply too much at risk here, and the last thing anyone in control wants to see is more wealth vanishing from peoples retirement accounts.. I cant find any other reason to explain why for example people would bid stocks so aggressively based on a silly story that was released early yesterday about Russia- which if anything would make the current US administration fall out of chairs laughing at how silly it is.. and this has been the case with all these dramatic final hour recoveries that keep coming up when we fall under 1300 on the nasdaq..

Of course a bull can make the arguement that enough is enough, valuations are much more in line than last year etc etc, war can be avoided, things artn getting better but arnt getting much worse etc etc..

all just speculation.. as such makes a market!
