Rick. You said...." There are plenty of other players out there that we should be concerned about when it comes to WMD: N. Korea, South Africa, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, etc. Why is Saddam priority #1 right now? Could it have something to do with OIL? ".....

South Africa is one of the few nations that have rid their country of WMD openly for the world to see...atb least I think they did.

IMO the only thing that oil would have to do in any war with sadam would be to stop it's use as support for our enemies. IMO when sadam is gone the USA will still pay top dollar to the Iraqi people for their oil.

You said...." Yes, we should go after Saddam, if it is proven that he has indeed been developing WMD. Not necessarily in a military way, but at least by keeping the inspections pressure on him and trying to find a diplomatic solution to the problem "......

And how would the pressure be kept on sadam, the only reason he has even let inspectors back into iraq is because of a military build up on his borders by the USA and Briton. I have not noticed any other countries helping pay for troop deployment on iraq borders yet they all want inspections to continue seems like for ever. Why don't those who want inspections to continue step up to the plate and offer to pay to maintain pressure on sadam?

They have had over 12 years of UN sanctions on sadam so why if sadam does not have any WMD did the UN continue with sanctions? We all better be very thankful that we have someone in the White House that will at last confront terrorists like sadam instead of the appeasement policies of the last administration and the current appeasement policies of certain EU countries.
