| Agreed, and all zonder can say is that it is not relevant to the current European view of Iraq today. Let me see, last time in the 90s when the U.S. engaged in war it unilaterally stopped a genocide and deposed a despot in Belgrade. European intellectuals argued against dropping bombs on Belgrade and use the same arguments today in regard to Iraq. European intellectuals were mistaken about Milosevic, arguing that there was no proof of genocide, no proof (though it was obvious to any person of reason) that Albanians were being forced out of their homeland. In fact, they disputed satellite pictures of mass albanian graves as U.S. fiction, as they do today with U.S. satellite photos of alleged Iraqi chemical sites. I don't understand why zonder refuses to reflect on the moment, that Europe was wrong in its view of the situation with Belgrade and why is not possible that its view is mistaken today with Iraq. That Iraq does have WMDs, is willing to use them if given the chance, slaughters and rapes his own people, destabilizes an entire region. Zonder is an intelligent person, with the dubious view that the status quo in Iraq should be maintained or if interferred with, then do so with kid gloves. |
