We annexed Peurto Rico and Hawaii over the last hundered years. But, that's water under the bridge and not relative to our discussion. We might as well have annexed Panama in that time too, since we essentially control that country.

Manifest Destiny was a phrase used by leaders and politicians in the 1840s to explain continental expansion by the United States.

So, you admit that what I said about Manifest Desitiny was in fact TRUE. Manifest Desitiny was used to justify our atrocities against native Americans. That's an historical fact that there's nothing anybody can do about now. The same thinking has been used to conquer most of Latin America in an economic and sometimes military way.

Call it what you like, but we're on the verge of attacking Iraq in an unprovoked war.

I can look silly if it makes your ego feel better.
