The Washington Post recently asked some survey questions
about Iraq. I think this one is very interesting:

7. What do you think is more important - for the United
States to move quickly against Iraq, even if that means
acting without the support of the United Nations Security
Council; or for the United States to keep trying to win
support from the United Nations Security Council, even if
that means moving more slowly against Iraq?

The people who watched the Powell presentation feel a
lot more strongly that swift action is needed than
the ones who did not.

Maybe they were more receptive to begin with, maybe not.
