you have to wonder why a male would be so consumed with this issue anyway...

We have a stake in the thing too. The matter is as important for men as it is for women, despite that women are by nature better suited to carry and initially nurture children. I am "consumed" by it because I clearly see the destruction being caused by the underlying philosophy women use to justify abortion.

Whether a woman gives birth or not, if she carries a child she is biologically linked to some other man. She, with the man and their unborn child helps form a natural family. To suggest that her man should naturally be more removed than she from this issue suggests a natural disparity or imbalance of responsibility between men and women in family relationships. Women alone have the responsibility for protecting or destroying the biological result the family, and men ought not be as concerned about it as women. If women wish to take on all this alone, they are free to do it. But they ought not expect men to be Prince Charmings when the going gets rough. Either its equal responsibility all around, or not at all. And passing law to force men to be mere walking checkbooks will not make a bit of difference here.
