Sorry, C2. I gave up on the war on drugs. We are going at it wrong,.... Of course, but I think it's important to recognize the huge foreign policy interests at stake in preserving the status quo. Our friend to the south's economy would collapse if the drug trade were to disappear or be seriously curtailed. The flow of illegal aliens would increase tremendously, something we can't afford. Plus, think of the massive political earthquake which would occur is the Mexican economy were to have about 25% of its GDP disappear. This political instability at our doorstep could be a serious national security issue for us. Unfortunately, by winking at the drug issue as it relates to Mexico, we foment drug use domestically--I don't think I have to list the evils that brings with it.
