The rehabilitation of McCarthy makes perfect sense, in the current political climate. "Tailgunner Joe" was a bum, a liar, and a Drunk. He will not be rehabilitated. But he was used by the left to smear the whole "Anticommunist" movement of the 40s and 50s. Now that the truth is coming out as the Soviet and American records are released, this will not stand.
