How old are you rock? Do you remember the Gulf War? Or was that before your time?

I'm in my mid 30s. Not only do I remember the Gulf War, I actually saw it coming. I was following International politics closely in the late 1980s and was very aware of Saddam Huessein's saber-rattling over Kuwait. He was claiming Kuwait as part of Iraq. He was complaining about having to repay loans from the Iran/Iraq war. He was complaining about Kuwait stealing oil.

Despite what Saddam said yesterday about fighting till the bitter end, I think he'll blink and go into exile before a war starts. He's one crazy loon. But, I think he values his life and would rather live the rest of his years in Russia. I could be wrong. But, that's my take on things. One way or another a war will likely be avoided IMO. This war is just too high profile at this point. Something will give. Even if it does occur, I don't think it will last long. The U.S. has overwhelming military might.
