They had so many pitchers a Hall-of-Famer could be omitted and the list was still impressive. The next year, they got Herb Score, who had two great years before getting hit in the face with a line drive.

I'm roughly contemporary with you, and in the mid-fifties, baseball was my life. If women existed then, they escaped my attention-:)
