CDMA2000 3G is not CDMA2000 1x (i.e a 3G approved technology) See qualcomm.com In 1999, the International Telecommunications Communication adopted an industry standard for third-generation systems which includes three operating modes - CDMA2000, W-CDMA and TD-SCDMA.
