rumour ... that SBC has reportedly asked a leading infrastructure vendor to give them a quote for swapping out the Cingular network to CDMA.

Another reason they may have been dropped off the GSM coordinating body is that they are about to combine Cigular with another cellphone company.

I have recently given up the ghost that NOK will in any way, ever, ever buy chips from QCOM .

I feel the same way about Cingular switching - like "when hell freezes over."
