what did you think of it? Me, I thought the author was on firmer ground when he was attacking the Bushies than when he was proposing his own stuff. He's too rooted in the abolitionist camp for my taste--actually seems to believe, like Schell, that unilateral cutbacks and related policies on our side could lead, in some foreseeable future, to the gradual elimination of the nuclear threat in general. As I've said before, I don't buy that, and don't think we really have, at this point, a good workable answer for the larger question of WMD proliferation. But that doesn't mean his criticisms of the Bushies aren't valid; I agree with him that their (as usual) largely unilateral, tactless, etc., approach to nuke issues has been something of an unforced error...
