<My questions are how thin, and how deep. Also, what processing is necessary to recover the gold? >

I know those conglomerates were from surface and very thick. As much as 5000m. Mining took place to depth of almost 4000m in some cases. These conglo cover an area of 20km by as much as 90 km. Exploration was often made through drilling. But I do not have more details. Will try to do more research on them when I have time.
